The Pennsylvania Turnpike is planning 11 "super service plazas."

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, prototype designs are being shown to the public this week in New Sewickley in Beaver County, where the commission wants to built the first such plaza, Westgate Plaza, near mile marker 26.
The super plazas would use overpasses to allow access from both directions on the highway. A prototype shows a main building and fuel stations in the middle of a huge parking lot. The center would feature a food court, a convenience store with deli, outdoor seating area and farmer's market. Truckers would have their own area, with telephone-equipped booths, TV, washers and dryers, and showers.
Most of the existing plazas would be remodeled into facilities for commercial drivers, who account for 15% of turnpike traffic but 45% of the revenue, according to the paper. The Butler service plaza closest to the proposed Westgate Plaza, however, would be closed and the land used for a new toll plaza.
