Rush Enterprises Reports Second Quarter Net Income Decreased Y-o-Y

Rush Enterprises Inc., which operates the largest network of commercial vehicle dealerships in North America, announced that for the quarter ended June 30, 2013, the company's net income was $5.6 million, or $0.14 per diluted share, compared with net income of $17.4 million, or $0.44 per diluted share, in the quarter ended June 30, 2012.

Court Upholds Mexico Pilot Program

UPDATED- A federal appeals court upheld the Obama administration’s pilot program for long-distance trucking across the U.S.-Mexico border. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit denied petitions by the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association and the Teamsters union to declare the program illegal.

Teamsters, UPS Freight Extend Current National Agreement

The Teamsters Union and UPS Freight have agreed to an extension of the current UPS Freight National Agreement in order to give the parties time to continue negotiations. This means that the current agreement will remain in place until the agreement has been revoted and accepted by the members.
