Ryan Bowley has been named Director of Government Affairs by the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association.

He has been with this group representing truck drivers for two years, focusing on highway funding and investment policies. Bowley’s responsibilities will now expand to overseeing all regulatory and legislative efforts in the OOIDA Washington, D.C., office.

“We look forward to his taking the lead on Capitol Hill in pursuing the interests of our members,” said Todd Spencer, executive vice president. “His work with the association has been highly valuable, and we are confident we’ll continue to see great things happen with the campaigns he pursues with the rest of the D.C. staff.”

OOIDA says Bowley has an extensive background working in the national transportation arena and interacting with federal agencies, policymakers and lawmakers. He has worked closely with the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, including policy work in improving goods movement, prioritizing federal investment on the interstate and major freight corridors, and addressing the challenges within FMCSA’s CSA system.
