TMW Systems introduced TMW Managed Services, a new service to help companies reduce IT infrastructure investments, ensure scalability and optimize scarce resources
. The new service includes enterprise-class application hosting and systems management.
The announcement gives a formal name and announcement to services TMW has already been providing customers: hosting services to fully manage back-end and customer facing operations.
"Transportation service providers are re-examining core competencies and looking for ways to further reduce information technology costs in already lean organizations, while maintaining their competitiveness," said Scott Vanselous, vice president and general manager at TMW. Vanselous said that with TMW's fully managed hosting services, the total costs are both more visible and more manageable through clearly defined service arrangements.
According to the company, managed services can help companies deploy new applications quickly, without the hassles of hardware procurement, infrastructure upgrades, or IT staff expansion. They can also provide business continuity assurance and co-location capabilities.
