Silver Eagle Manufacturing has received SmartWay certification for its mid-length aerodynamic skirt.

"This is the first in a large offering of innovative aerodynamic products we will be launching throughout the remainder of 2009 and 2010 to help long-haul truckers save on fuel costs and gain a quick return on investment," said Jay Wilson, president and CEO of Silver Eagle Manufacturing.

Silver Eagle's side skirts, which mount to the underside of the trailer, work to reduce aerodynamic drag and increase fuel economy. The skirts are compliant with the California Air Resources Board standards requiring 53-foot van trailers to install aerodynamic devices. All 2011 model year trailers operating in California will have to meet the standards by January 2010, followed by all other model years by the end of 2012.
