ClimaCab and Webasto have teamed up to create a climate control system for commercial trucks.
The new, non-idling system consists of an integration of ClimaCab, Glacier Bay's electric air conditioning unit, with Webasto's Air Top 2000 ST heater.

"It is our goal to provide customers with the most efficient, highest value and cleanest solution on the market, and adding a Webasto heater to our system is a no brainer," said Jay Parr, ClimaCab general manager.

The system has touch screen capability that allows for temperature control with the touch of a button. Glacier Bay will serve as the single source supplier for sales, parts, service and warranty needs.

While burning no fuel, the ClimaCab unit provides for at least 10 hours of air conditioning power using four batteries charged by a standard truck alternator. The Webasto system provides heating using factory bunk HVAC air ducts. It uses 80 percent less fuel than an idling truck.

Webasto will begin supplying the Air Top 2000 ST to Glacier Bay in the summer of 2009.
