Stemco has added to its Bat RF line of products with the introduction of AirBat SD, a tire pressure monitoring sensor, designed for severe-duty applications such as transit and refuse hauling.

According to the company, under-inflated tires can boost fuel costs for fleets by as much as 3 percent.

The AirBat SD is a visual indicator on the wheel end that monitors under-inflated tires. It is configurable to various low pressure thresholds and can be retrofitted to existing vehicles within 10 minutes. Stemco has field tested the system in environments where temperatures may exceed 300 degrees.

AirBat can be used with other products in the Bat RF line.
