Recall Issued for Certain Kenworth and Peterbilt Models

Paccar is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Kenworth T680 and T880 trucks and model year 2013-2014 Peterbilt 567, 579 and 587 trucks equipped with air ride seats. The cables for anchoring the seat belt buckles of both the driver and passenger seat may fray.

Dana Has New Lightweight Tandem, Stronger Drive Shafts

Dana Sunday introduced a new tandem rear axle product and stronger drive- and inter-axle shafts, and said certain axles are now available on Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks. Executives described the products the day before TMC’s annual meeting opened in Nashville, Tenn.

On the Paccar Twins' Engine

A year ago we predicted that the new Paccar 12.9-liter MX engine used in Europe would be seen here in North America. So it was hardly a big surprise to see the engine in a Peterbilt 389 and a Kenworth T660 at a Dallas truck show in the fall. The MX was incredibly quiet and had plenty of get up and go.

Peterbilt's 387 Hybrid

The C15 was very responsive, showed great throttle modulation and made gearshifting a joy. And at the event, the 387 it powered also gave pause. I hadn't driven one in several years and the new dash appealed enormously.
