Virginia Tech Transportation Institute will take a big rig on site at about 100 schools in the coming year as its Sharing the Road with Trucks program teaches young drivers about the dangers of driving in a trucker’s blind spots. Soon, a restored 1994 Peterbilt 379 will enter service to turn heads and draw attention to the safety message.
