A big portion of Interstate 15 Nevada is closed following flooding on Monday that caused parts of the route to be washed away.

As of Tuesday morning, the section is north of Las Vegas, between mile markers 64 and 112 in both directions. The closure is expected to last at least several days, according to the Nevada DOT.

Nevada transportation officials are reportedly working with officials from other states to come up with a plan to reopen the route that connects Las Vegas with southern Utah. However, finding alternative routes has been difficult because its not yet known how passable they may be.

Read more about it from the Las Vegas Sun, while the latest road conditions and closings are on the Nevada DOT website.
