Alcoa is incorporating its Wheel & Transportation Products and Alcoa Building & Construction Systems units into a single new business segment.
The new segment is called Transportation and Construction Solutions and is aimed at expansion into emerging regional markets. Jose Drummond has been appointed as the group’s president after previously serving as the Latin American regional president.
The move comes after recent Alcoa acquisitions of RTI International Metals, Firth Rixson and TITAL. Alcoa's Engineered Products and Solutions segment is being streamlined to enable a focus on Alcoa's position as an aerospace partner.
External reporting for Alcoa’s Transportation and Construction Solutions segment will begin the third quarter of 2015.
“These changes provide important leadership and organizational advances in support of our transformation strategy,” said Klaus Kleinfeld, Alcoa chairman and CEO. “This realignment optimizes our organizational structure and expands our leadership capabilities to more rapidly capture profitable downstream growth.”
