Paccar is recalling 1,110 medium-duty and heavy-duty Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks because of a problem with the throttle pedal assembly that could cause the pedal to stick,
Throttle Pedal Issue Means Recall for 1,100 Kenworth, Peterbilt Trucks
Throttle pedals may stick, or bind, on medium-duty and heavy-duty Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks affected by the recall.

The recall affects certain 2023-2024 Peterbilt 535, 536, 537, 548, 2023-2024 Kenworth T280, T380, T480, and 2024 Kenworth T180 trucks.
The throttle pedal assembly may contain an oversized magnet carrier, The magnet carrier acts as the pivot for the throttle pedal. An oversized magnet carrier may cause the throttle pedal to fail to return to idle, or bind.
Application of the service brake will override the condition.

The trucks affected by the recall were manufactured from August 18, 2022, through May 8, 2023.
Last October, the maker of the component, Orscheln, informed Paccar that it had determined that there was a safety-related defect with its pedals. Orscheln and Paccar started working with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on a recall.
As of January 14, 2025, Paccar had received five warranty claims from 7/17/2023 to 3/21/2024 and zero field reports about trucks in the field that are related. No reports of deaths or injuries have been received.
Dealers will inspect and replace the throttle pedal as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 17, 2025. Owners may contact Peterbilt's customer service at 1-940-591-4220 and Kenworth's customer service at 1-425-828-5888. Paccar's numbers for this recall are 25PBA and 25KWA.
