The Bureau of Transportation Statistics of the U.S. Department of Transportation released the April North American Free Trade Agreement freight numbers showing that trucks carried 60.6% of the $99 billion of freight moved in April 2013 between the United States and its NAFTA partners, Canada and Mexico.
The amount of freight carried by the for-hire transportation industry rose 0.3% in March from February, rising for the fifth month in a row, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics.
Trucks carried 59.1% of the $88.4 billion of freight moved in February 2013 between the United States and its North American Free Trade Agreement partners, Canada and Mexico.
The amount of freight carried by the for-hire transportation industry rose 1.2% in February from January, rising for the fourth consecutive month, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ Freight Transportation Services Index.
Trade using surface transportation modes between the United States, Canada and Mexico rose by 6.2% in 2012 compared to 2011. The value of $960 billion was the highest since the North American Free Trade Agreement went into effect in 1994.

Trade using surface transportation between the United States and its North American Free Trade Agreement partners, Canada and Mexico, rose 7.9% in October 2012 compared to October 2011. Trade totaled $85.3 billion, unadjusted for inflation, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Adjusted for inflation and exchange rates, the October 2012 total was $61.7 billion in 2004 dollars, up 7.6% from October 2011
