American Central Transport is increasing pay for both company truck drivers and owner operators, the trucking company announced.
Effective June 1, company drivers at the Missouri-based ACT will receive a 1 cent per mile pay increase for all miles. Independent contractors will receive 3 cents per mile more for all miles, moving it up to $1.03 per mile.
Robert Phillips of Cleburne, Texas, an independent contractor leased to American Central Transport Inc. of Liberty, Mo., has been named a Highway Angel by the Truckload Carriers Association. Phillips is being recognized for helping an elderly couple involved in an accident.
