Downspeeding isn't a good approach to fuel savings in high GVW applications, so Navistar is offering Canadians a ProStar ES spec designed for 110,000 GVW. It features Eaton's 16-speed UltraShift and engines from Cummins and Navistar optimized for higher weights.

Navistar's new ProStar ES package includes a choice of the Maxxforce N13 engine coupled to an Eaton Fuller Advantage 10-speed automated transmission, or the Eaton Cummins SmartAdvantage powertrain, and high-efficiency 6X4 or 6X 2 drive axles and fuel-efficient tires.
