Less-than-truckload carrier ABF Freight System will increase general rates and charges effective March 24.

Rates will increase by about 5.4%, although the effect on specific lanes and shipments will vary.

The news comes on the heels of fellow LTL carrier FedEx announcing it will increase general rates by 3.9% on March 31.
