Dot Transportation says its fleetwide truck driver wage increase is the largest in company history.

The pay increase applies to both full-time and part-time drivers on all schedules that the company offers. The average salary for full time drivers at DTI was $80,000 per year in 2017 and with the latest pay bump, that amount will increase by an average of $3,000-4,000, says the company.

DTI, the private fleet arm of Dot Foods, employs more than 1,500 drivers at 11 Dot Foods distribution centers and 16 terminal locations across the country.

“This change is acknowledgement of our incredible drivers and the hard work they put in every day,” said Paul Mugerditchian, DTI president. “Our drivers are the face of our business. They do much more than log miles. They play a key customer service role and are instrumental in Dot’s success.”

DTI also offers its full-time drivers 401(k) and profit sharing, paid time off, and a benefits package valued at $22,000. The company continually evaluates wages in order to remain competitive in the industry, according to a release.
