Nov. 12 – The Oregon Trucking Assn. wants to replace the state’s weight-distance tax with a diesel fuel levy and higher vehicle registration fees. OTA says while this would generate the same amount of revenue for the state, it would save trucking companies millions of dollars spent filing the paperwork.

(Oregon doesn’t currently collect a diesel tax from commercial highway users.)
