SARS Corp., which provides remote asset management and telematics solutions, has introduced SARS RoadTrac, a fleet-tracking service for the road transport industry. SARS RoadTrac utilizes the integrated satellite/GPRS SureLinx
satellite terminal from SkyWave Mobile Communications.
SARS recently began shipping SureLinx units to North American SARS RoadTrac customers and anticipates further sales to mid-size fleet operators. SARS RoadTrac integrates with a broad range of hardware platforms and is designed to improve the safety, security and operational efficiencies of mid-size road fleets.
"This solution combines data from GPRS and satellite networks to give customers a very low total cost of ownership while ensuring constant contact with an asset, even when it's out of GPRS range," said Clayton Shelver, CEO of SARS Corp. "Integration of SARS RoadTrac with SkyWave's SureLinx dual-mode terminal enables us to deliver solutions for customers with minimal lead time."
With SARS RoadTrac, customers monitor their vehicles on a customizable map-based interface and receive real-time business intelligence regarding the status and location of vehicles. SARS RoadTrac is accessed through a standard web browser allowing users to be in touch with their critical assets, anywhere, anytime.
The SARS RoadTrac service utilizes SkyWave's SureLinx terminal that integrates satellite and GPRS for simplified networking and cost-efficient application integration. The discreet terminal features low power consumption and a rugged exterior, making it versatile enough to suit a wide range of applications requiring dependable coverage across urban and rural or remote locations.
