Iowa-based Barr-Nunn Transportation is offering its owner-operators a fourth pay raise in 2007. Starting Dec. 14, over-the-road owner-operators with a hazmat will receive starting pay of 90 cents for practical miles.

They receive band pay on top of this up to $1.90 per mile. This 2-cent raise will also be in effect for Barr-Nunn's regional and hometime fleets. According to Rene Beacom, president of Barr-Nunn Transportation, the pay raise is in conjunction with appreciation bonuses of $750 to $1,100, a fuel guarantee of $1.29, paid fuel taxes, and paid plates, permits, toll cards & EZpass/Ipass.
