DOTAuthority.com has renamed the Orlando Truckers' Conference to reflect an expansion of event locations. The new brand will simply be The Truckers' Conference, and a new web site is currently under construction at
www.thetruckersconference.com.
The Truckers' Conference is being redesigned to focus more on its primary mission of offering educational seminars and workshops to truckers who are interested in starting their own transportation-related businesses.
The first Truckers' Conference will be held January 24-26, 2008, in Dallas, Texas, with a location to be announced. The Truckers' Conference will return to Orlando, Fla., May 15-17, 2008 at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center. The final program planned for next year will occur Sept. 11-13 at the Penn State Conference Center Hotel in State College, Pa.
The new program will offer a total of six four-hour seminars over the course of three consecutive days. The workshops will include such topics as: "How to Start Your Own Transportation Business," "How to Sell and Market Transportation Services," "How to Find Freight and Set Freight Rates," and "How to Set Up & Negotiate Contracts."
The program will also offer mandatory training for new drivers, hours of service refresher training, and mandatory reasonable suspicion supervisor training.
James P. Lamb, a USDOT/STB & FMC-licensed transportation practitioner and president of DOTAuthority.com, will conduct the majority of the seminars, which will include brief 15-minute presentations by related partners and sponsors. Lamb, a former motor carrier regulator, is a licensed freight broker with over 15 years of experience in the industry.
