Epes Transport System, a truckload carrier based in North Carolina, recently raised pay for company drivers, owner-operators and dedicated teams.

The new package increases top company pay to $.42 per mile and independent contractor pay to $.90 per mile loaded and empty (plus fuel surcharge).
Epes also announced a new dedicated team operation of 50 power units with pay up to $.54 per mile for company teams and $1.15 per mile for independent contractors. In addition, the wait time for detention pay has been reduced from four hours to two hours, in response to recommendations made by Epes’ driver fleet.
“Our goal is to provide our fleet with solid pay and home weekends. This is a well-deserved raise for our professionals on the road,” said Britt Colley, president of Epes Transport System.
Epes is the largest privately owned trucking company in the state, with more than 700 units. Epes has authority in the 48 contiguous states, and is most active in the eastern two-thirds of the United States.
