ALK Technologies has won a prestigious Transportation Marketing and Communications Association (TMCA) 2006 Compass Award.

The awards program recognizes organizations in North American transportation and logistics that have created an effective strategic marketing or communications program. ALK was honored at a formal awards gala during the 10th annual conference and educational forum held last month in Keystone, Colo.
This year, TMCA received 200 entries from 72 organizations. ALK Technologies was presented with the Merit Award in the New Media category for a flash demonstration featuring PC*MILER|Mobile. ALK’s PC*MILER|Mobile is the industry’s first truck-specific navigation system for numerous Java, GPS-enabled mobile phones.
“The Compass awards program is important because it raises the standards of professionalism and marketing effectiveness in our industry,” according to Tom Nightingale, vice president of corporate marketing for Schneider National and chairperson of the 2006 Compass awards program. TMCA is the only association dedicated to exclusively serving marketing, sales and communications professionals in all modes and market segments of North American transportation and logistics.
