Cost-effective driver recruiting continues to be the most elusive process in the trucking industry. Many carriers have found the Internet to be a powerful low-cost recruiting tool.

On April 20, the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) will host an audio conference called "Demystifying Internet Recruiting."
And while Internet recruiting is changing the way companies are doing business, it can be difficult to manage. This audio conference will address:
• How Internet and phone recruiting differ.
• The Top 10 things your corporate web site needs to be.
• How to get yourself in position for success.
• Criteria to consider when choosing an Internet Recruiting service.
• The six things you need to know about your Internet applications.
• How to win the battle for professional drivers
• How to properly manage your Internet presence.
Speakers include Darin Williams, president, CDLjobs.com, Lisbon, Iowa; Betty Nix, director of driver personnel, Boyd Bros. Transportation, Clayton, Ala.; Richard Crook, vice president of safety and recruiting, Willis Shaw Express, Elm Springs, Ark.; and Stacia DeWitt, director of recruiting, Marten Transport, Ltd., Mondovi, Wis.
To participate in the audio conference, companies can dial in on a speakerphone and have as many employees as they want listen in – all for one price. Individuals also have the ability to ask questions during the audio conference, making the experience interactive as well.
Live site hook-up and materials are priced at $129 per site for TCA members, $159 per site for non-TCA members. Audiotape and materials or CD and materials only are $59 for audio conference participants, $129 for non-participants who are TCA members ($159 for non-participants who are not TCA members).
