AT&T Wireless has introduced an email and messaging service based on a low-cost device called the Ogo.
The Ogo can access email from AOL, MSN and Yahoo! The device can also be used for instant messaging. Ogo’s clamshell design unfolds for display and access to a full QWERTY keypad. The Ogo does not include voice, and currently sells for $99 after a $30 mail-in rebate. According to AT&T Wireless, the Ogo service plans begin at $17.99 per month.
Acquisition of AT&T Wireless by Cingular Wireless is awaiting regulatory approval.
