Maptuit Corp., Burlington, Mass. has introduced the FleetNav Suite of trucking solutions. The product combines two new modules to Maptuit’s driver navigation tool.
Maptuit Debuts FleetNav Suite

Maptuit FleetNav Suite adds FleetNav Fuel and FleetNav Alert to its existing FleetNav Directions product, creating a complete fuel optimization and fleet monitoring solution.
Of course, FleetNav Directions is used with a fleet’s mobile communications system to provide truck-friendly directions to drivers, taking into account toll charges, hazardous roads, low clearances and road restrictions.
The first new module, FleetNav Fuel, provides drivers and fleet managers with real-time fuel pricing information. When a driver requests directions to their next stop, those directions are created using the best fuel prices available within a fleet’s fueling network. By calculating all critical parameters including: current vehicle location, current fuel level, vehicle’s fuel consumption, current prices within a fleet’s fuel network and the location of the final destination, FleetNav Fuel calculates an optimal fuel plan and incorporates this into the directions to the next stop.
FleetNav Alert provides fleet managers with a real-time view of their fleet’s activities as well as powerful reporting capabilities to determine fleet performance. With FleetNav Alert, managers can see where the vehicle is, establish if the driver is taking the least-cost route, and determine if the load will be arriving at the customer location on time. Using pre-defined parameters, FleetNav Alert issues real-time alerts when trucks leave their assigned routes enabling fleets to better control delivery performance and costs. Flexible reporting tools enable fleet managers to track driver performance and determine where corrective action is needed.
The Maptuit suite appears to compete directly with a suite of products from Integrated Decision Support Corp. that includes Expert Fuel, OOR/ETA (for Out-Of-Route/Estimated Time of Arrival) Alert. Integrated also offers a graphical view of fleet operations in a module called Netgraf.
