Four industry executives have been elected to the board of directors of the newly formed Industrial Packaging Alliance of North America (IPANA), according to Traffic World Inc.

During the organization's recent start-up, the new directors hired John A. McQuaid as the fledgling organization's executive director. McQuaid, current head of the Steel Shipping Container Institute, is a former president and CEO of the National Private Truck Council and a former executive of the AmericanTrucking Assns. and National Industrial Transportation League.
Officers elected include: Chairman John F. Herrick Jr., president and chief operating officer of Cleveland Steel Container Corp.; Vice Chairman Ronald Brown, vice president and strategic business unit manager North America, Industrial Packaging & Services of Greif; Treasurer Daniel W. Miller, president and chief executive officer of Russell-Stanley; and Secretary David E. Pinion, vice president, general manager, industrial packaging division of Hoover Materials Handling Group. The new directors will serve until the group's first meeting in late March.
IPANA is an alliance made up of the following packaging organizations: the International Fibre Drum Institute; the Plastic Drum Institute; the Rigid Intermediate Bulk Container Assn.; and the Steel Shipping Container Institute. IPANA's initial annual meeting will be held March 30-April 2 at the Westin Hilton Head Resort, Hilton Head, S.C. Details of that meeting can be obtained by calling (202) 408-1900.
