Global 2-Way, a leader in commercial two-way VHF/UHF radio systems specializing in communication and tracking applications, announced that Clear Channel Radio has joined the company's list of network partners.

The agreement increases the number of radio stations offering the Global T-Fleet system -- a nationwide messaging and tracking system -- from 235 stations to 395 stations. Global T-Fleet says it covers more than 80% of the nation with 100% coverage expected by March 2003.
Designed to aid trucking companies in tracking and communicating with their fleets, the Global T-Fleet system consists of a driver terminal, a transceiver unit and a small whip antenna. The system uses Global 2-Way's patented digital high-frequency (DHF) network and the existing FM radio infrastructure to provide coast-to-coast coverage. Each FM tower covers more than 16 times the area of other terrestrial systems, according to the company.
Global 2-Way's network partnerships create strategic business opportunities for both companies. By offering the sub-carrier frequency to Global 2-Way, network partners receive RDS technology at no cost. RDS technology is rapidly becoming a popular means of digitally broadcasting information, such as station call letters, formats, artist information or other digital data to car radios. In addition, network partners share in the financial success of Global T-Fleet by receiving a percentage of revenue gained from every message sent over its network.
Headquartered in Marco Island, Fla., Global 2-Way is one of the nation's largest providers of land mobile and wireless communication systems. The company offers a wide range of communication and tracking systems for almost any business or public safety application.
