Changes are under way at the Scranton, Pa., Petro as the truckstop’s new management emphasizes driver service and amenities.

A new drivers-only lounge warns off non-CDL holders, offering truckers big comfy sofas and chairs, computer games and electric/modem hookups at a computer counter. Computers will soon be installed in the lounge for truckers without laptops. Internet kiosks are available on the main concourse.
An outdoor dining patio with full menu service offers a beautiful view of the Wyoming Valley below from its umbrella’d tables.
“We know [these improvements] make a difference to drivers. And we know they appreciate it,” says restaurant manager Lenny Krappa, who has been working closely with Bordentown general manager John Diab to make the facility more driver friendly.
The truckstop also offers a six-seat beauty salon, public game room, Iron Skillet restaurant, Pizza Hut franchise, 10 diesel pumps, trailer wash, and a privately owned fitness center on premises.
The Scranton Petro is located off I-81, Exit 178, in Dupont, Pa., just south of Scranton.
