A bill in the Connecticut state Legislature would let tractor-trailers park in commuter parking lots and weigh stations.

Truck parking is a problem in the state, especially along I-95, according to a state study. About 1,200 truckers can't find a place to park each night in the state.
The proposal was "reluctantly endorsed" by the legislature's transportation committee, according to the Hartford Courant, and stands a slim chance of passing. Several members of the committee expressed concern that trucks would end up idling all night in commuter lots near residential areas.
Michael Riley, president of the Motor Transport Assn. of Connecticut, told the paper that at least the bill may "get the dialogue going" about the need for truck parking in the state.
