The Truckload Carriers Assn. and the American Trucking Associations may get back together.

During TCA's annual meeting in Las Vegas, the group's board of directors voted to create a joint task force to draft an affiliation agreement. ATA Chairman David McCorkle was there to pitch the proposal.
TCA was formerly an ATA affiliate. Two years ago, TCA members voted to dissociate from ATA over its requirement that trucking companies who wanted to be members of affiliates such as TCA also must join ATA.
According to published reports, ATA is backing off that requirement, leading to a real possibility of reunification.
