Central Transport, Warren, Mich., is significantly expanding its less-than-truckload business westward with the acquisition of most of the assets of California's DiSalvo Trucking Company.

C.C. Western, a subsidiary of Central Transport International, will acquire a significant portion of DiSalvo's assets, including certain facilities, equipment, and a customer database. The company started operations Wednesday under the name Central-DiSalvo.
The company's expanded coverage in central and northern California adds customer service centers in Fresno, Stockton and Oakland to its existing network of facilities in Colton, Los Angeles, San Diego and Ventura.
