Logistics.com has launched a new version of OptiBid Lane, a state-of-the-art procurement tool for the self-service negotiation and securing of transportation service contracts.

The new version of OptiBid Lane, which is hosted by Logistics.com, enables shippers to realize savings over an outsourced transportation procurement solution. It allows shippers to rapidly procure transportation service contracts over the Internet, standardizing the RFQ process and reducing it from months to days.
OptiBid Lane standardizes and centralizes communication between shippers and carriers, providing carriers with bids in a consistent format and making it easy for shippers to choose the carriers that best support their business requirements based not only on rates but also on multiple service factors.
Shippers can easily download the results into their transportation management systems and use archived bids as templates for subsequent bids, which improves productivity.
Shippers using OptiBid Lane will automatically have access to the hundreds of carriers currently registered with Logistics.com and can rapidly register any additional carriers needed.
"The new self-service version of OptiBid Lane is ideal for small- and medium-sized shippers with moderately complex networks and large shippers with highly experienced transportation purchasing staff," says Joe Wagner, senior vice president of global sales and marketing for Logistics.com. "OptiBid Network, our outsourced solution, is still most popular with large shippers seeking to leverage Logistics.com's procurement expertise."
