The American Trucking Associations announced that U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao will speak at ATA's 2001 Management Conference and Exhibition, being held Oct. 28-31 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tenn.

Chao's remarks will highlight the convention's annual banquet on Tuesday evening, Oct. 30.
"Our members are honored by the opportunity to hear from a key member of President's Bush's Cabinet at this critical point in U.S. history," said ATA interim President and CEO William Canary. "We're also anticipating some insights into where the Department of Labor is going on issues key to the survival of the trucking industry, particularly the ergonomics issue."
