McClendon Trucking, LaFayette, Ala, announced it will add about 50 conventional tractors to its fleet.
These additions are to be made over the remainder of 2001.
Jerry Riley, vice president of operations, said this addition will complete the updating of McClendon's company tractor fleet, increasing efficiencies in both fuel economy and maintenance costs. Riley added that the tractor addition would complement McClendon's recent acquisition of 100 new air-ride, 53-foot dry vans.
The make and model of the new tractors has not yet been determined. McClendon's current fleet is made up largely of Internationals.
