The Virginia Department of Transportation is shutting down lanes on I-95 near the Springfield Interchange this week as an extensive reconstruction project continues on what has become known as the "Mixing Bowl."

On the northbound side of I-95, one lane will be closed between Exit 169 and the Commerce Street Bridge for bridge construction, and two lanes will be closed from Franconia Road to the bridge for demolition.
On the southbound side, one lane will be closed from Commerce Street Bridge to the Franconia-Springfield Parkway for bridge construction.
