U.S. Xpress, Chattanooga, Tenn., has signed on with ShowCase Corp., a Chicago-based business solutions firm, to provide human resources, sales and marketing and a new corporate Intranet in a paperless system.
The ShowCase EIP, which stands for Enterprise Information Portal, will provide U.S. Xpress with three key business applications: a sales and marketing database; a complete human resources information source that supports all employee inquiries, forms, policies and other information; and a corporate intranet site that gives the office staff access to reports from a centralized database.
U.S. Xpress was recently honored by the Smithsonian Institution for its contribution to creating a "paperless" environment in the transportation industry. Company officials say they plan to introduce the EIP solution to customers by combining it with their current web site network, Xpress Connect.
