Internet transportation marketplace Transportation.com, Overland Park, Kan., now offers Classifieds, a service that allows members to post and set a selling price for equipment directly on the site.

Equipment can be offered for sale in a public environment or to a private, targeted community of buyers. Buyers can search equipment listings by category or other criteria, review additional details and communicate with the seller directly.
According to Tansportation.com, more than 1,400 tractors, trailers and trucks have been posted since Classifieds launched less than two weeks ago. They have drawn an average of nearly 350 page views per day.
Transportation.com also offers auction services, which have sold more than 600 items, including trucks, trailers, forklifts and other transportation equipment.
During the month of October, Transportation.com will allow buyers to preview equipment in Classifieds and access seller contact information directly. After the introductory period ends on Oct. 31, buyers can access seller contact information following membership enrollment.
