Sweden's truck drivers began to lift their blockades of oil depots and ferry terminals at ports around the country yesterday after the government agreed to discus possible cuts in fuel taxes.
According to the Agence France Press, about 300 trucks that had sealed off the ports in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Helsingborg began to disperse after six days of protest.
The creation of a commission to examine taxes on fuel was announced by Sweden's Finance Ministry on Wednesday. Hauliers spokesman Peter Monwell said the commission was due to meet "as soon as possible."
