As part of a continuing effort to reduce the number of commercial vehicle crashes in North America, more than 500 truck and bus safety enforcement officers and industry representatives from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico will be meeting at the annual CVSA Fall Conference September 10-14 at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The conference will begin at 8 a.m. September 10 with leading safety advocacy group representatives discussing new and innovative ways to improve highway safety.
Clyde Hart, acting administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, is expected to give a keynote address to discuss, among other issues, the controversial proposed changes in the hours of service regulations. He will also announce a new joint CVSA/FMCSA Commercial Driver's License state self-assessment program.
