The Truckload Carriers Assn. yesterday presented American Trucking Associations President and CEO Walter McCormick with a check for $250,000 to help with ATA's campaign against the proposed hours of service regulations.

The money will be used to fund a proposal from ProActive Communications to undertake a grassroots campaign on behalf of ATA that will build state-based coalitions opposing the proposal.
"Obtaining reasonable and efficient hours of service is the single most important issue for TCA members," said Robert A. Hirsch, TCA's new president. "It is our goal that, by working together, TCA and ATA can achieve our mutually desired legislative and regulatory goals."
