A rash of accidents in California has prompted a safety crackdown on commercial trucks in Anaheim Hills, where police have issued at least 30 citations.

According to the Los Angeles Times, officials say the steep, winding roads of Anaheim Hills may have contributed to three serious truck accidents in the past month. Police say other factors also played a part, but in all cases, trucks lost control while going downhill. None of the accidents was fatal.
Officers from the Anaheim and Brea Police Departments and the California Highway Patrol set up two checkpoints last Thursday and performed inspections of everything from trucks' weight to brakes. Besides the 30 safety violations found, one truck had so many problems a mechanic had to fix it at the scene.
