A chunk of land located on I-675 in the heart of Atlanta’s trucking district could be the future home of a $25 million truck plaza project.

A developer who helped to get I-675 opened is now proposing a massive construction idea for the site, one that brings together the idea of a gas/food store along with truckstop, lodging and retail facilities.
Jim Crist and his company, S.E. Equity Developers, are experimenting to see if this European idea will work in the U.S. The travel plaza will feature one chain restaurant and two 60-room hotels, while the retail outlet will feature supplies for travelers.
A portion of the 80-acre tract at the I-675 and Ellenwood Road interchange is pending before the Clayton County commission, as is a liquor license for the restaurant. Both issues are expected to be resolved later this month.
