Cummins Engine Coo, Columbus, Ind., has been ranked number 47 on Fortune magazine's list of the 50 best companies for minorities.

According to Tim Solso, Cummins’ Chairman and CEO, the company tracks and measures diversity initiatives dealing with representation; recruiting, hiring and retention; training and procurement; just as it measures financial performance.
Cummins also has Local Diversity Councils throughout the organization. These global Councils serve as ambassadors of diversity for the company. They are involved in training, recruiting and retention issues pertinent to diversity.
