Roadway Express, an Akron, Ohio-based LTL carrier, is realigning its freight network, including adding more sleeper operations.

Roadway has adjusted schedules and added more sleeper operations to improve the speed and reliability of its service. More than 500 new sleeper team schedules will be added to lanes across the country.
"Adding more sleeper transportation allows us to keep freight moving, reducing cycle times for our customers," said John Bronneck, vice president of operations for Roadway.
According to the Akron Beacon-Journal, the changes are intended to get back some of the regional-freight market from USFreightways, American Freightways, and other smaller carriers.
