Con-Way Southern Express is breaking ground today on a new customer service center in New Orleans.

The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at 10397 Airline Highway in St. Rose, La., close to Highway 310.
CSE will immediately develop half of the 15 acres it purchased, with construction completion scheduled for November. The facility will include a 14,000-square-foot docking terminal, a 2,500-square-foot fueling and maintenance area and 4,600 square feet of office space. Con-Way officials project that the new 40-door facility, which is expandable to 100 doors, will provide enough capacity to move 1 million pounds of freight per day. The facility will be closer to the majority of the company's customers, allowing CSE to receive customer freight earlier and deliver it sooner.
The current service center's 50 employees will be moving to the new location. Current facility manager Ray Babin will manage the new facility.
CSE, an operating company of Con-Way Transportation Services based in Palo Alto, Calif., provides time-definite and day-definite freight delivery and logistics services for commercial and industrial businesses.
