The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance recently announced an international inspection blitz will be launched on June 6, 2000.
International RoadCheck 2000 will take place for 72 continuous hours between June 6-8 at more than one thousand inspection sites throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. In addition to inspecting trucks and buses at inspection sites along major highways, roving patrols will stop commercial vehicles traveling other highways.
The annual RoadCheck event, which began in 1988, places a special focus on truck, bus and other driver safety programs aimed at saving lives on North American highways by reducing the number of crashes involving commercial vehicles. Each year, more than two million roadside safety inspections are conducted. This number is expected to grow significantly as the volume of commercial traffic increases.
