Penske Creates e-Business Group

Penske Truck Leasing, Reading, PA, has created a new e-business group to leverage its transportation and logistics expertise. The new unit will be set up to support e-commerce initiatives including home page, catalog and order taking functions with customer fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, freight, credit/debit purchasing, catalog management and financial
accounting. Full service lease and rental customers will be able to access information from Penske through the Web.
Penske plans to put maintenance scheduling, road service tracking and vehicle history on-line, and to provide customers with private Internet sites to access information about their fleets. Penske is also developing its own on-line used vehicle portal.
