Lighting supplier Truck-Lite Co. has bought the assets of Raydyot Limited a large manufacturer of truck mirrors and lighting based in Birmingham, England.

Stephen Davis, CEO of Truck-Lite said the
acquisition a major step in developing Truck-Lite into a 'See and Be Seen' company. "Our goal is to be the premier safety lighting and visibility products supplier in the world, and Raydyot is an excellent fit for our strategic plans," he said. Raydyot is a privately held company which employs approximately 150 people in two manufacturing facilities in the United Kingdom. It also has operating relationships in Brazil, India, and China. Major OEM customers include Scania, Volvo, ERF, and DAF. Company sales in 1999 were over
$20 million US.
Headquartered in Falconer, NY, Truck-Lite is a leading producer of lighting, wiring harnesses, and safety accessories to the commercial vehicle industry. The company's sales last year exceeded $100 million and it employs 1,100 people in four manufacturing facilities in New York and Pennsylvania.
