National Public Radio recently aired an insightful piece on the impact that technology is having on trucking and on the nation's productivity.

The eight-minute segment ran on the popular All Things Considered program. Reporter Don Gonyea reports that trucking is undergoing rapid changes as fleets deploy new technology and allowing some of the best productivity gains the industry has ever seen.
Gonyea visits Yellow Freight's headquarters in Overland Park, KS and interviews president Bill Zollars, as well as a number of Yellow technology personnel.
He also visits a truckstop outside Detroit and talks to independent truckers about using the Internet to find loads.
You can listen to the program (you will need a Real Audio player), at NPR's web site.
